Each year, we the Lodge, hold a celebration for our Ladies, in a way of thanking them for the support that they have given us through the year. This event, either takes the form of a “Black Tie Gala Night” at a local hotel, or a Black Tie, weekend at a hotel, usually on the coast. The actual location is the choice of the Worshipful Master. 

In 2023, W.Bro. Tony Hall, decided on a weekend at a very nice hotel in Bournemouth as a way of saying “Thank You” to our Ladies.
 

We were transported, very comfortably to the hotel by Bro Ron Brown, one of our brethren who owns his own coach company. Unfortunately for Ron, he could not stay, as he had a family birthday celebration the next day. Several of the brethren, who were going on to another destination after the weekend made their own way to the hotel.
 

The Friday was spent settling into the hotel, with a relaxed meal in the evening. Saturday was a day of leisure, exploring Bournemouth during the day. In the evening, we held our “Black Tie Gala”. The entertainment was exceptionally good, where the cabaret act included every one of the brethren, wives, partners, and guests, but not in an embarrassing way. Everyone retired to bed, having experienced a brilliant evening’s, entertainment.

 

Sunday morning, following breakfast, we found Bro Ron Brown awaiting with his coach, to transport those who had travelled down by coach, back to Birmingham.

The overall comments from everyone was that “the weekend was an exceptional success”.
